After 13 years of negotiation and processing, approval of Ley 21.600 que crea el Servicio de Biodiversidad y Áreas Protegidas (SBAP) y el Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas (SNAP) (Law 21.600 for the creation of the Service for Biodiversity and Protected Areas and the National System of Protected Areas) has been a milestone for nature conservation in Chile.
